Tibbetts First Two-Time Winner At Wilmot

Wilmot Speedway, June 10, 2005 - Lee Tibbetts (Hebron, IL) became the first two-time winner at the Wilmot Speedway in 2005 Friday night.  Tibbetts jumped from his fifth position starting spot to take the lead from Jay Crichton (Lake Villa, IL) on lap two of the Modified feature just as the yellow came out for Ralph Schneider's stalled number four.  Steve Mueller (Mukwonago, WI) moved into the top five on lap three as the action continued back in the field.  Jason Jensen brought out the next yellow on lap seven bunching up the field again.  Mueller used the inside groove to drop Mike Conn (Big Bend, WI) to fourth on lap nine when John Schultz brought out the final caution of the event when mechanical problems caused him to stop in turn three.

Tibbetts continued to put distance between himself and second running Crichton as Crichton had Mueller, Mark Brunner (West Allis, WI) and Conn to contend with.  Conn appeared to lose a left-rear spring and faded to a seventh place finish.  The third place battle became the one to watch as Mueller and Brunner battled side-by-side over the last several laps.  Brunner edged Mueller for a third place finish at the start-finish line.  The win made it four in a row for Tibbetts as he won both his heat race and feature last week and tonight.

Dustin Siegle was the Junior Fan of the Week.  Action continues on Saturday night as the Street Stocks, Mini-Sprints and Sportsman divisions join the IMCA Modifieds Triple Crown Round I.  For more information contact the track office at 262-279-3892.
