Superior Speedway Chooses DTRA for 2007
1-28-2007
The DTRA is proud to announce the continued partnership with Superior Speedway
in 2007. The promoters of Superior reached an agreement with the DTRA to
sanction Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street
Stocks and on a limited basis Crate Late Models in 2007. “We are proud
to partner with the DTRA and look forward to a season like no other at
Superior” stated Rick Gondik, Superior Speedway Co-Promoter.
Superior Speedway would like to thank Wissota, DTRA and all the fans, sponsors
and drivers that attended their information gathering meeting at the Androy in
Superior Saturday. “This meeting allowed both organizations to lay out
their proposals, answer drivers questions and concerns and to make our
decision easier” commented Butch Erickson, Superior Speedway
Co-Promoter. “My partner and I believe that the DTRA provides our
fans, drivers and sponsors a superior product and a vehicle for growth.
We couldn’t be happier.”
Superior Speedway sanctioned their classes last year with DTRA and experienced
some of the largest car counts in the area, fewer repeat winners along with
some of the best racing in the upper Midwest. Further, the track point
fund doubled, drivers saved money utilizing the Goodyear spec tire program and
were able to compete for the DTRA National point fund with little to no
traveling.
Greg Parent DTRA board member commented “With the renewed commitment from
Superior and recently signed Tri-Oval and Devils Lake Speedways the DTRA
member tracks also include Cedar Lake and River Cities Speedways.”
“With continued talks with area tracks we look forward to further expanding
the DTRA in the Midwest”.
The Superior Speedway is a 3/8 mile red clay oval located in Superior
Wisconsin. The track features racing every Friday night and boasts some
of the fastest side by side racing in the Midwest. For more info on

The DTRA is in its second year of operation. The organization utilizes
the Goodyear spec tire program to save drivers hundreds of thousands of
dollars and brings significant value to promoters. The DTRA also targets
sponsors that see opportunities beyond just selling to the race
competitors. Finally, the DTRA point system allows drivers to compete
for the National point fund by racing only their home track. For more
