Superior Speedway Announces 'Arnie Ranta Motorsports' Sponsored Late Model Division
Superior Speedway Promoter, Chris Stepan, is extremely excited to announce the
news that the WISSOTA Late Model division will pay $1,500 to the winner EVERY
regular Friday race program in 2005 starting with the season opener on Friday,
May 13th.
Stepan recently reached a sponsorship agreement with Arnie Ranta, owner of
Arnie Ranta Motorsports, to offer a $200 bonus to each regular night's feature
winner in the Late Model division, which bumps the already stout winner's pay
from $1,300 to $1,500 nightly at the lightning fast northern Wisconsin
speedplant.
Stepan enthusiastically stated "We already have the highest payout of any
WISSOTA sanctioned facility from top to bottom, but to get this deal done with
Arnie is just a great way to start off my time as the Promoter here in
Superior and is a great opportunity for Late Model drivers to race for some
well-deserved bigger money on a nightly basis. Hopefully this added
money will entice a few more out-of-towners to make Superior their Friday
night home. Arnie is a huge supporter of Late Model racing and this just
adds to his commitment to the Superior Speedway, the Late Model division and
it's drivers."
In 2004 the Superior Speedway paid $1300 to win on a nightly basis for the
Late Model division; $700 to win each night for the Modified division; $500 to
win on a night-by-night basis for the Super Stock Division; $200 to win on a
regular basis for the Street Stock and Midwest Modified divisions and $100 to
win nightly for the Pure Stock division. This bonus will only increase
the already top-notch winner's paycheck in the Late Model division every
regular race night at the Superior, Wisconsin oval.
When asked why he jumped at the chance to be a part of this winner's bonus,
Ranta commented that "I have been to probably over 100 race tracks and in
my 40+ years of being a race fan and Superior Speedway has always been my
favorite track. I have always liked the racing, the surface and the people
associated with the track, so I guess my love for the speedway is why I wanted
to get involved. I really enjoy racing and have grown up in Northern
Minnesota, so Friday nights were a tradition in Superior and I wanted to do
what I could to continue that tradition. I am a big fan and supporter of Late
Model racing and am currently promoting Rocket Chassis in our area, trying to
get them to take off. I look forward to working with Chris and the Superior
Speedway for years to come."
Race fans will see the Arnie Ranta Motorsports logo proudly displayed on 5
Late Models this season, including Hibbing, Minnesota's Jeff Provinzino; Grand
Rapids, Minnesota's Caley Emerson and Bob Broking, along with Thunder Bay,
Ontario's Joel Cryderman and Kelly Lake, Minnesota's Kelly Estey.
Provinzino, Cryderman and Broking will all be piloting new swing-arm Rockets,
while Estey and Emerson will be wheeling 4-bar Rockets this season.
This bonus will be for regular races only, which include the following dates
(May 13th, May 20th, June 3rd, June 10th, July 1st, July 8th, July 15th, July
22nd, August 12th, August 19th & August 26th) The only thing that the Late
Model drivers will be required to do to be eligible for this bonus is to
display a Arnie Ranta Motorsports sticker on their car every race night.
The stickers will be provided for you when you arrive at the speedway.
Superior Speedway thanks Arnie Ranta for his support.
