CitizensFirst Credit Union and Scout Night to be held May 10th

Oshkosh, WI, May 3, 2013 - What do May showers bring' A wet racetrack! Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway lost its first night of the season due to weather as the Dan Kelly Plumbing Night at the races has been postponed until May 31st.

Both the pit area and the racing surface took on too much water the evening prior to the planned events forcing track officials to pull the plug on the May 3rd program. The Dan Kelly Plumbing Night at the races has been rescheduled for May 31st when the track will showcase the Dan Kelly Plumbing Night at the races presented by Oshkosh Lanes. The next event on our 2013 schedule takes place Friday Night May 10th when CitizensFirst Credit Union presents Scout Night.

Representatives of CitizensFirst will be on hand next Friday night to give out prizes and the show will be the first of two events presented by the local banking institution. CitizensFirst will also be sponsoring the Speedzone Fall Classic special in early September.

The "Lucky Crapper" will still make its debut next week, May 10th. The "Lucky Crapper" is a non-functioning toilet next to the Panske Enterprises Souvenir stand beneath the grandstands at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway.

It will be used to collect information requests and even a means to have area businesses announced on the public address system. Its purpose will grow as the season progresses.

In the next couple weeks several surveys will be made by the track to help improve marketing by polling fans about their interests in motorsports. The "Lucky Crapper" will be used to collect these surveys and several prizes will be awarded.

It is hoped next week will bring with it better weather so The Speedzone can continue the success which it had on opening night when over 140 cars jammed the pit area and one of the largest opening night crowds in years were in attendance.

In the showcase event for the Automotive Supply Company IMCA Modifieds fans were treated to a duel between former 141 Speedway champion Sean Jerovetz and Oshkosh Speedzone's own Tim Lemirande. In the end Jerovetz was able to fend off Lemirande for the victory by less than a car length.

When racing resumes May 10th the first green flag of the night is set to fall at 7:00pm, and the grandstands will be open at 5:00pm. Adult admission is just $10, with you admission for youngsters ages 11 through 15 just $5. Children are admitted FREE with a paid adult.
