Street Stock Little Dream Ready For Rice Lake Speedway

Rice Lake WI, July 25 - Missing from the local racing scene for the past year, the annual Street Stock "Little Dream" race is set to roll at the Rice Lake Speedway on Tuesday night, August 3rd. The "Little Dream" is based on a unique concept that was original to the Rice Lake Speedway when it first started in 1992. A basic purse was established for the event for the Street Stocks and businesses and individuals were allowed to contribute money to the purse as they saw fit. Many people contribute cash to the win but such interesting things as money placed on last place, the first car to spin in the race, the highest placing Ford and many other unique ways of donating have been done over the years. The concept has always made the night a fun and entertaining event for driver and spectator alike and when the cash starts flowing in at a high rate on race night, things can get pretty wild. The highest recorded purse for the event was in 2005 when the Street Stock winner went home with $2,377.75. In 2009 the event was moved over to a Midwest Modified race but this year the event has been rightfully moved back to a Street Stock contest.

Along with the Street Stocks, many people are excited to see that the WISSOTA Late Models will be making their first appearance at the track in nearly two years also. An outstanding field in expected on an off night of racing for the Late Models and many of the top drivers from the Eau Claire, Twin Cites and Duluth/Iron Range area are expected to be in attendance. The Late Model purse is a bit of an unknown at this point also, as fans over the years have been inclined to contribute and help build up the Late Model portion of the night also.

Recently added to the event will be a full program of Midwest Modifieds also. Many of the national point chasers in the Midwest Mods will likely be on hand also. There will be no track points awarded for the Streets or Midwest Mods but all three classes will be awarded national points and the draw/redraw procedure will be in effect.

Gates will open at 4 p.m. With the cutoff for racers at 6 p.m. Hot laps will start at 6:30 and the first race goes under Randy Davis's green flag at 7 p.m.

The Rice Lake Speedway is located one mile north of Rice Lake midway between state highway 48 and county SS. The track phone number is 715-236-2002. Contract co owner Dave Adams with any questions at 715-205-2861 or visit the speedway website at www.ricelakespeedway.net . The rain date for this event will be Wednesday, August 5th at the same times.
