Tilleda Thunder On Ice New Faces In Victory Lane During Week 7 by Randy Van Hoof 2/20/2010 Two new winners this week just proves that anyone can be beat on any given day. In the FWD Studded class it was Tone Everhart getting his first win ending Clint "Chucky" Forstner's 5 win streak. The question, could B. J. Giese run the season and win every feature in the FWD Non-Studded class this season? The answer, no, Tom Brandt would get his first feature win and end Giese's reign. Dan Michonski would start his day over on Shawano Lake running the Fire On Ice invitational and end up second and getting to Tilleda in time to start the feature with us, and end up taking the win for his ninth win overall this season! Tony Everhart would take the green form the pole for the FWD Studded feature and would never give up the lead. Matt Skarzynski would make it interesting in the closing laps but in the end would have to settle for the runner up spot followed by Daryl Erickson and Clint Forstner. Cody Bierman and Brad Wedde would lead the FWD Non-Studded field to the green. This would be a very entertaining race as the top five cars were always within a car length of each other. As the race went on the faster cars would come to the front. Tom Brandt would battle his way to the lead with the points leader B. J. Giese giving chase but would come home in the second spot with Jeff Jolitz in third, Dan Hintz fourth and Josh Jolitz would end up fifth. RWD Non-Studded feature would have David Rindt leading the field to the green with Kyle Lemke on the outside front row. This one would run for a couple laps before the yellow would come out on lap three as Jeff Jolitz would end up in the front stretch bank with his drivers door exposed to on coming traffic, so he would have to yanked off the bank for his own safety. The rest of the race would run caution free as Dan Michonski, starting from the final spot and Clint Forstner starting mid-pack would make their way to the front. Over the final 5 laps these two would trade some paint and swap the lead no less that 8 times but at the checkers it would be Michonski taking the win with Forstner in second followed by points leader Justin Kraeger, Les Slater and Pete Forstner. Racing continues every Saturday at 1:00pm through February. Saturday March 6th has been added as a "Special" non-points money race. Thank You to our 2010 sponsors.
