Kluetz, Rickert, Spatz, Woller & Witberler Did The Pepsi Twist With Feature Wins At State Park Speedway

It's Pepsi Night. A full field of twelve cars participated in tonight's
Central Wisconsin Late Model Feature as Wausau's #H20 Travis Weisenbeck &
Tripoli's #74 Allen Brunker started the field to the green flag.
Weisenbeck led for nine laps, but Wausau's #44 Justin Woller took over the
lead and Wausau's #14 Wayne Breitenfeldt was close behind. During the
race, the top five in the points would battle side by side through most of
this race. Coming down to the white flag Woller was still the leader,
then a caution would come out and Woller would win the race. Coming in
second was Breitenfeldt, and third went to Wausau's #70 Neil Knoblock.
Yellow would be a good way to describe the Street Stock Feature this evening
as Clintonville's #08 Mike Kasperek would gain a lead from the rest of the
field, but a caution would come out when Wausau's #06 Andy Bartelt &
Marathon's #21 Duane "Mushy" Myzska tangled in corner 4 making
Kasperek's lead disintegrate. We tried to go back to green flag racing
when Wausau's #69 Tom Dowe would hit the wall in corner 3 and then we would
try to restart one more time, but another caution would come out as Irma's #20
Joe Monti & Myszka got together in corner 4. On the third restart,
Kasperek & Marathon's #7 Brian Witberler raced side by side, but on the
last lap, Witberler would edge out Kasperek taking the checkered flag.
Coming in second was Kasperek, third went to Wausau's #2 Tim "The
Roc" Nawrocki, this division's point leader.
It was twenty laps of exciting racing tonight in the Cenex Mini Stocks as
Wausau's #13 Jenny Nitzsche & Wausau's #51 Curt Luedtke would lead all 15
cars to the start of this race. The first caution came out because Curt
Luedtke's machine had a fuel leak. Nitzsche would lead the field to the
restart with eighteen laps to go and coming out of nowhere was the machine of
Wausau's #47 Jeff "Slim" Spatz and he would cruise past Nitzsche
gaining a big lead. The lead was narrowed when Auburndale's #3z Kevin
Eckes spun out bringing out the second caution. Spatz would lead the
field to the restart and put the car on cruise control taking home the
checkered flag. Second went to Mosinee's #88 Dale Louze with third going
to Rudolph's #0 Keith Wirtz.
We welcomed back for the second week in a row, the Legend Division. The
familiar faces of Merrill's #08 Eric Lokemoen (driving #4 this evening),
Wisconsin Rapids #44 Josh Schoenick and Minnesota's #13 Tim Brockhouse &
#96 Jay Rickert and even #25 Phil Bickley (State Park Speedway's track
promoter) competed. Three laps into the race, Rickert took the lead away
from Lokemoen, with thirteen laps to go, Marshfield's #01 Elliott Weiler,
Schoenick & Brockhouse would put pressure on Rickert making this race
tight all the way to the end. Rickert would be victorious, second would
go to Elliott Weiler and third would go to Brockhouse. Marshfield's #81
Russ Weiler experienced trouble in practice as he rolled his car onto its side
causing too much damage to compete this evening.
Tripoli's #16 Nick Krueger had a very troubled full night (in fact, he spun
out six times total throughout the evening). This race would once again,
bring Schofield's #70 Kyle Kluetz & Phillips #31 Trevor Raskie racing side
by side. This evening, something would change as Kluetz & Raskie
both spun in corner 1 giving the lead to Wisconsin Dell's #2 Jake Jump, our
youngest competitor in this division. On the restart, Kluetz would take
over & pull out another feature win. Coming in second was Raskie and
third went to Jump.
Next week, the final race of the season, is the Don Bethmann Memorial Season
Championship & WSAU (550 AM) Night. Five divisions will be competing
again, Central Wisconsin Late Models, Street Stocks, Cenex Mini Stocks,
Wisconsin Mini Cup Series & the Legends. Come on out & join the
