Knoblock Cuts Down Point Lead In The Late Model Division At State Park Speedway!!

Tonight it was WAOW TV Newsline 9, WDEZ (101.9 FM Night) & Bank of Wausau presenting "Kids Helping Kids" getting together for $9.00 a Carload Night. Fans were
also asked to bring a school supply or a new article of clothing for the local Women's Community Shelter. Also on hand were the little miniature animals, there was Buster the reindeer, Tuffy the horse, Shemp the Alpaca & Daffney the Donkey. Thanks to
#21 Street Stock Duane Myszka & his lovely wife Sue and their children for allowing our race fans to pet these animals.
Two local boys from the east side of Wausau started on the front row tonight in the Central Wisconsin Late Model Division. They would beTravis Weisenbeck #H20 & Wayne Breitenfeldt #14, then with two laps into the feature, Breitenfeldt took off like a rocket gaining a good size lead and would maintain this lead for most of this race. With 12 laps to go, Wausau's #70 Neil Knoblock would pass Breitenfeldt for the lead going on to take another win cutting down the point lead in this division. Coming in second, was Gleason's #03 Bo Bennish, who started in the back of the pack because of winning last week's feature. Third would go to Wausau's #32 Lyle Nowak.
In our Street Stock Division, two cars experienced problems, Schofield's #79 Adam Jennejohn had a oil leak in the heat race causing him to retire for the evening,
and Clintonville's #08 Mike Kasperek was involved in a crash during hisheat wrecking his front end and ending his evening also. Westboro's #60 Jim Annala & Marathon's #21 Duane "Mushy" Myszka would bring the nine car field to the green flag. Mushy would open up a giant lead on everyone until Wausau's #2 Tim "the roc" Nawrocki & Merrill's #06 Andy Bartelt would catch with the three laps to go. Mushy could only do so much to hold off Nawrocki who would win the feature. Myzska would come in second and third would go to Bartelt. Tonight, we welcomed a newcomer, #69 Tom Dowe from Wausau.
There were five cars competing in the Mini Cup Division, Schofield's #08 Chris Hoen & Wisconsin Dells #2 Jake Jump brought us to the start of this feature. After 1 lap into this race, Phillips #31 Trevor Raskie would take the lead but Schofield's #70 Kyle Kluetz
would chase him down for the lead and win by a large margin. Second went to Raskie, Tripoli's #16 Nick Krueger came in third.
Bumper to bumper like on the freeway, 13 cars were in the Cenex Mini Stock Division Feature. Auburndale's #3Z Kevin Eckes was dominant while the rest of the pack was
mixing it up for position. Eckes would loose momentum as Marathon's #22 Greg Blount managed to sneak pass Eckes for the lead. With 5 laps to go, Wausau's #15 Doug
Adams & Mosinee's #88 Dale Louze would make contact bringing out a caution. At the restart, Blount would go on to keep his point lead up with this feature win. Coming across the line for second was Rudolph's #0 Keith Wirtz and Eckes came in third. Hamburg's #14 Amanda Schara won the Semi Feature and chose to participate in the
Feature.
We welcomed back for a special visit on our 2003 Fan Appreciation Night at State Park Speedway, the Legend Division. These cars would compete for twenty laps with Marshfield's #01 Elliott Weiler & #14 Dan McGiveron challenging each other for the top position. With 14 laps to go, Elliott Weiler would take over the lead, but it wasn't easy
as his Dad, Marshfield's #81 Russ Weiler would battle him to the white flag, but Elliott would prevail over his Dad. Second would go to his Dad and third would go to McGiveron.
Next week, for the third time this season because of inclement weather, we are going to try to present WRIG Night along with Verlo Mattress Factory of Rib Mountain giving away a Futon Package worth $600.00 & Pepsi Night. Just a total of two races left for
