State Park Speedway

WAOW Tv-9, WOFM (94.7), Budweiser & the Wimmer Family presented the 23rd
Annual Larry Detjens Memorial/Wisconsin Challenge Series Race.
Westboro's #60 Jim Annala & Weston's #79 Adam Jennejohn started this
evening's Street Stock Semi Feature to the green flag. Annala took the
lead from the start to the finish battling Edgar's #82 Tristan Huebsch for the
top spot through out this event and Annala went onto win his first race here
at State Park Speedway. Annala decided he would advance to participate
in the Feature. Second went to Huebsch and third went to Merrill's #4
Dave Wendorf.
In the Cenex Mini Stock Semi Feature, six cars would participate in this
event. The pole sitter, Mosinee's #16 Jeremy Behr would lead the entire
race and go on to take the checkered flag. Coming in a distant second
was Wausau's #51 Curt Luedtke and third would go to Wausau's #11 Nate Geib.
We had a total of 19 cars participating in the Street Stock Division
tonight. A full field of 13 cars competed in the feature race with Omega's #29
Dustin Ochodinicky & Wausau's #9 Wally Laffin bringing the field to the
green flag. Laffin led the first 11 laps until a caution came out when
Wausau's #01 Dave Lashua blew up this motor collecting Wausau's #2T Tim
Nawrocki, our current point leader, Clintonville's #08 Mike Kasperek, &
Ochodinicky. Nawrocki, was the only one able to continue. With fourteen
laps to go, Laffin would battle with Tomahawk's #66 Toby Selmer and Laffin
would lose the lead with 8 laps left. Selmer would hold off the hard charging
of Tripoli's #38 Mark Listle for the win. Listle would finish second and
third would go to Marathon's #7 Brian Witberler.
Racing was very tight in the Cenex Mini Stock Feature. Wausau's #64
Robert Dalsky led for the first 10 laps until Mosinee's #88 Dale Louze took
over the lead. The first & only caution came out when Wausau's #57
Shawn Teske spun out in corner 2. The last nine laps was a shootout for
the top spot, Louze & Merrill's #8 Bob Schult raced box to box, but
Schult would prevail. Schult won the race, but because of not fitting the
Cenex Mini Stock rules, the win was given to Hatley's #29 Chad Dietsche.
Second would go to Louze and third to Marathon's #22 Greg Blount.

We hope Dylan enjoyed his limousine ride but especially meeting Scott &
Chris Wimmer.
Next week, its the 2nd Annual Pepsi Wisconsin Mid Season Championship. Also
joining us for the second year is Wausau Antique Auto Club. Lots of different
antique vehicles will be on display.
