Miller Lite 120 Kick’s Off Slinger Opener
April 21 Test & Tune Noon – 4:00 pm
(Slinger, WI) April 16, 2007 – The 60th Anniversary Season for Slinger
Speedway kick’s off Sunday afternoon April 22nd with the Miller Lite Spring
Opener 120. Late Models will headline the event joined by Limited Late
Models, Midwest Sportsman, Midwest Modified, Thunderstock, Slinger Bee’s and
Figure 8’s. Qualifying will start at 12:15 and racing at 2:00 pm.
Defending Slinger Speedway Late Model Track Champion David Prunty will take on
former Track Champions Brad “JJ” Mueller, Lowell Bennett, Al Schill,
Conrad Morgan and Tony Strupp along with some of the best short track racers
in the country.
The Miller Lite Spring Opener has a couple of changes over previous
years. This year the traditional twin 75’s will be replaced by a
120-lap race run in two 60-lap segments. At the halfway point all cars
will pit for adjustments and will return to the track for the second segment
lined up just how they finished lap 60. The second change is all Slinger
Speedway divisions will race in the Miller Lite Spring Opener.
Traditionally only one or two divisions joined the Late Models on opening day.
Saturday April 21 fans will have the opportunity to view all the divisions of
competition for the 2007-racing season during the annual practice day.
The following divisions will practice by class: Late Model, Limited Late
Model, Midwest Modified, Midwest Sportsman, Thunderstocks, Slinger Bees and
Figure 8’s. General admission on practice day is free.
