"Driver X" Erik Darnell Added To The July 18th Slinger Nationals
Matt Kenseth tops list of Returning Champions
(Slinger, WI) July 6 - Erik Darnell, Driver of the Roush Racing #99 Truck has
recently committed to racing in the 27th Annual Miller Lite Slinger
Nationals. Erik was named the 2005 Roush Racing Driver X, and winner of
a full-time ride in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Erik has many
victories racing short tracks around the Country and the Slinger Nationals is
one he would like to add to his list. Erik stated, "We are coming
to Slinger to Win, I don't want to just show up and race!"
Erik will have stiff competition with former Nationals Winner Matt Kenseth
topping that list. Matt will drive a car prepared by Pathfinder Chassis
owners Jason Schuler and Joe Wood.
Along with Matt and Erik, Roush Racing Teammate Todd Kluever will join
Morgan-McClure Nextel Cup Driver Scott Wimmer challenging former Nationals
Champions Dick Trickle, Richie Bickle Jr., Lowell Bennett, Tony Strupp, David
Prunty, Conrad Morgan, and defending Nationals Champion Nathan Haseleu.
Advance tickets for the July 18th Miller Lite Nationals are now on sale at the
Slinger Speedway track office or at Pioneer Plaza, located at Highways 41&
145 in Richfield. Fans can save $3.00 when they purchase tickets in advance
before Sunday, July 16th. There is a limited supply of autograph session
tickets on sale at the track office for $50.
Spectator gates open at 3 p.m. with qualifying beginning at 4:00 p.m. and
events to follow. The 250 lap Late Model feature will follow the preliminary
events, which includes a 40 Lap Midwest Sportsman Feature Race. The rain date
is Wednesday, July 19, 2006
