Rain Wins For The Fourth Time At Shawano Speedway

Shawano, WI (June 24, 2006) - For the fourth time this year, rain forced the cancellation of the racing program at Shawano Speedway. 

With a little over two months of racing left, Ron Berna sits atop the WISSOTA Late Model point standings. He is followed by Gordie Seegert, Justin Ritchie, Troy Springborn and Tim Buhler. Terry Anvelink has won the most features in the division, with two victories. A.J. Diemel, Doug Blashe, Nick Anvelink, Pete Parker and Ron Berna have each won one feature. 

Jeremie Hedrick holds the point lead over Lance Arneson, Jarrod Anvelink, John Berna and Eric Scribner in the IMCA Modified division. Hedrick and Scribner have each won two features. Craig Bartz, Jerry Muenster and Matt McDermid have each won one feature. 

The IMCA Stock Car point standings is being led by Rod Snellenberger. He is followed by Brian Bruechert, Jason Czarapata, Kyle Frederick and Kevin Lamberies. Greg Gretz has won the most features, with two victories. Frederick, Bruechert, Lamberies and Czarapata have each won one feature.

Troy Springborn leads the Fastrak Crate Late Model division, with Jeff Curtin, Mike Kunschke, Aaron Wickersheim and Joey Braatz following. Curtin has won four features, while Springborn has won two features. Magnum Motors and Sign Waves have each put $125 toward a bounty to be paid to any driver that breaks the Curtin/Springborn winning streak in the Fastrak Crate Late Model division.

The IMCA Sport Mod point standings is being led by Tracy Wassenberg. He is followed by Shawn Wagner, Mike Czarapata, Craig Hoffman and Greg Magsam. Wassenberg and Brad Bricko have each won two features. Robert Besaw, Hoffman and Jamie Diestler have each won one feature.

Racing action will resume at Shawano Speedway on Saturday night, with a starting time of 6:00 p.m. In addition to the regular racing program, there will be an Australian Pursuit race for the WISSOTA Late Model division. Drivers will qualify for the race through the heat races, and will be racing for a total purse of $500.
