Rain Washes Away Shawano Speedway Racing Program Again

Shawano, WI (June 11, 2005) - A late afternoon downpour forced the Shawano Speedway to cancel its weekly racing program due to wet grounds. Racing will resume next weekend, with WISSOTA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and Limited Late Models taking part in the weekly program.

Gordie Seegert currently leads the point standings in the WISSOTA Late Model division, with Nick Anvelink six points behind. A.J. Diemel is in third place, seven points back. Ron Berna and M.J. McBride are tied for fourth place, 11 points back.

The IMCA Modified division is led by Lance Arneson, who is 14 points ahead of Wade Schutt and 15 points ahead of Jeremie Hedrick. Jerry and Eddie Muenster round out the top five, 19 and 20 points back.

Brian Bruechert holds an eight point lead over Kyle Frederick in the IMCA Stock Car division. Rod Snellenberger, Jason Czarapata and Larry Karcz round out the top five, 13, 14, and 19 points back.

The Limited Late Model division is led by Jeff Curtin, who is six points ahead of Jesse Peebles and seven points ahead of Luke Uttecht. Bob Schmidt is 13 points back, while Mike Kunschke is 19 points back. 

Racing actions next week starts at 6:30 p.m. As part of the regular racing program, a Tri-Track Pursuit race for the WISSOTA Late Models will also be part of the program. Drivers will qualify for this race through the heat races, with the winner of the Tri-Track Pursuit race receiving $1,000.
