By: Kevin Ramsell

Thursday, May 10, 2007 (Loves Park, IL) – All mothers will be in the spotlight this Saturday night as Windsor Auto Sales presents the Mother’s Day Special featuring the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. All moms will get half price admission and a fan could go home with a used car.

The action gets underway at 7:07 p.m. with the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Budweiser American Short Trackers, Coca-Cola RoadRunners, INEX Legends and INEX Bandoleros in action.

Fans are encouraged to arrive at the track early so they can sign up to win a used Chevrolet Monte Carlo courtesy of Windsor Auto Sales. The name will be drawn during this Saturday night’s racing program.

The battle for the 2007 track championships are shaping up to be a close one for this season. The drivers who are in contention will need to bring their “A” game every Saturday night.

Jerry Gille currently holds a two-point lead over Jon Reynolds Jr. in the quest for the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Model championship. Bob Kahler already has one feature win this season and currently sits in third, 13 points back. Defending six time track champion, Ricky Bilderback, is not off to a great start. But he currently sits in fourth, only 16 points behind Gille.

There is only 15 points separate Budweiser American Short Tracker point leader Tim Melvin from fifth place runner Randy Samples. Melvin, who picked up the opening night feature win, currently holds an 8 point lead over Matt Berger. Nick Cina, Jr. and last week’s feature winner, BJ Sparkman, are tied for third only 14 points behind Melvin.

If you think there is a tight battle in the American Short Tracker division, just wait until you look at the top-five in the Coca-Cola RoadRunner division where you will find only 8 points separating point leader Chris Gantz to fifth place runner Vachenzia Jester. Opening night feature winner John Logan, Jr. sits in second only three points behind Gantz, but is in a three way tie for second with Kris Nilson and Terrance Robinson.

The gates open at 5:00 p.m. with qualifying starting at 6:00 p.m. The racing action will get underway at 7:07 p.m.
