Rockford Announces Hornet vs. Bandit Challenge For Spring Classic

Rockford, IL- Rockford Speedway officials have finalized the details pertaining to the first ever Hornet vs. Bandit Challenge which will take place on Saturday night April 14 during the 30th annual Spring Classic.  Teams from across Illinois and Wisconsin are invited to compete at the quarter-mile high banked paved oval while utilizing their home track rules for this type of car.

“We wanted to create an event for our Hornet drivers and Bandit drivers from surrounding tracks that would be special and start the year off on a high note for those teams,” commented Rockford Speedway Director of Competition Steve Dickson.  “With the race taking place on our oval, the fact that these teams will qualify, as well as being part of the first big racing weekend in the Midwest should create a fun filled atmosphere.”

Entry forms are available online at www.rockfordspeedway.com or by calling the Speedway Entry Department at 815-633-0035.  The 25 lap feature event will see a total of 24 starters with the winner taking home a record $100 in prize money in addition to a huge trophy.  All drivers meeting the April 7 pre-entry deadline will receive an exclusive event T-Shirt.

The 30th annual Spring Classic features the Wisconsin Challenge Series in a 150 lap feature event on Sunday April 15 in combination with the Big 8 Series Late Models.  Saturday April 14 will highlight the Mid-American Stock Car Series in a 75 lap contest, the Crap Scrappers Hornets vs. Bandit Challenge along with preliminary events and qualifying for the Wisconsin Challenge Series.
