By: Kevin Ramsell
Sunday, October 22, 2006 (Loves Park, IL) – Jody Purdy captured the Goblin
250 enduro at the Rockford Speedway. The race marked the final event of
the 2006 season at the Rockford Speedway.
A great crowd was on hand to witness 109 cars to take the green flag for the
250 lap 4-cylinder enduro race. Tom Goedert took the early lead but that
was until Tim Loomis took over the top spot by lap 25.
Loomis would lead until the Lewis Frazer was listed as the leader at the 75
lap mark of the event.
Roger Markham would move up to the top five and take over the lead with 100
laps complete. He, along with Jody Purdy was the only cars on the lead
lap.
The two would swap positions with Purdy taking over the lead with 100 laps to
go.
Purdy would have a four lap lead over Markham. Purdy would head into the
pits on lap 222 thinking he had a tire going down. He would come back
out and still have a lap lead over Markham.
Purdy would hold on to the top spot all the way to the checkered flag with
Markham in second. Douglas Finnern would come home third with Ted
Diagnikes in fourth.
Kenneth Hood would win the battle over Nick Worman to win the demolition
derby.
Jeff Myers won the Best Appearing Car award.

Kids Costume Contest.
The 60th season of racing will begin in April, 2007. Please watch the
