By: Kevin Ramsell

Monday, August 14, 2006 (Loves Park, IL) – Where will you see 10 stock car divisions competing in 689 feature laps of racing in three days?  The answer is simple; it’s the 41st Annual Chicago International Trucks National Short Track Championships at the Rockford Speedway on September 22-24, 2006.

The famous high-banked quarter-mile oval will once again be the home of one of the greatest Midwest racing events.

The fun will actually begin on Thursday, September 21st when the track will be open for practice from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.  The pit gate will open at 3:00 p.m. for all NSTC competitors.

On Friday, September 22nd, the 41st Annual NSTC will start with the Winged Women on Wheels, Area Sportsman, RoadRunners, and Hornets in action.  Qualifying for the WWOW, Area Sportsman, and RoadRunners will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the racing action starting at 7:07 p.m.  Four feature races will cap off the first night of racing with a 25-lap WWOW Season Championship feature, 50-lap Area Sportsman feature, 41-lap RoadRunner feature and a 25-lap Hornet Season Championship feature event.  Grandstand admission will be $12 for adults and $6 for ages 11 and under.  The main gate will open at 3:20 p.m.

It will be a big day on Saturday, September 23rd as the “Faster than a Speeding Bullet” qualifying will start at 2:15 p.m. for the CRA Late Models, Big 8 Late Models, Grand Nationals, American Short Trackers, and Hobby Stox.  After qualifying the fans are invited to an Open Pit Party until 5:30 p.m.

At 5:05 p.m., the green flag waves for another evening of NSTC racing action.  All divisions that qualified earlier will have qualifying races.  Then its 273 laps of feature racing action with the: 41-lap Grand National feature, American Short Tracker 41-lap feature, Hobby Stox 41-lap feature, and the Big 8 Series TWIN 75-lap feature event.  Adult admission for Saturday night is $17 (reserved or general) and $6 for ages 11 and under in the reserved section or $5 in the general admission area.

The final day of the 41st Annual event will take place on Sunday, September 24th starting off with a fan autograph session at 10:30 a.m.  The racing action will get underway at 12:30 p.m. with Mid-American Series Qualifying races and last chance races.  The CRA Super Series will then challenge the quarter-mile oval in a 200-lap feature event followed by a Mid-American 75-lap feature.  Adult admission for Sunday is $20 (reserved or general) and $6 for ages 11 and under in the reserved section or $5 in the general admission area.
