Road America Karting Club Weekend Series 2006 Champions
ELKHART LAKE, Wis – The fourth season of the Road America Karting Club has
now drawn to a close following the season finale on September 30th.
After a great season of close racing, class champions were determined in seven
classes.
One championship just wasn’t enough for Jeffrey Bartz and Collin Jackson, as
both drivers grabbed an RAKC title to match their 2006 TERAKC crowns.
Bartz brought home the championship in the Animal Sports division while
Jackson won every race on his way to the Animal Junior title.
RAKC newcomers dominated the top spots in both Yamaha classes. Scott
Kopp took victories in the final three races of the season to close out a hard
fought battle for the Yamaha SSX Lite championship. In contrast, Mike
Balz dominated proceedings in the Yamaha SSX Heavy class, winning all seven
events on his championship run.
Meanwhile, three past champions brought home more hardware in their respective
classes. Mike Mueller took his fourth consecutive RAKC championship in
the HPV division on the strength of five mid season victories. The RM-1
class saw last seasons Yamaha champion Alex Langer move up and take three wins
and the class championship for his efforts. Finally, Jeff Markwardt made
it back-to-back championships in the G125 shifter class, taking victory each
time out.

help make this another successful season for Road America Karting Club.
