Oshkosh Speed Zone Raceway News
Oshkosh Speed Zone raceway held its first driver and informational meeting
January 12th at The Oshkosh Lanes. The meeting was a huge success, more than
anticipated drivers, crew and spectators showed up which was a very good sign
for the up coming year.
Among items discussed were rules, classes and general information. The
classes that will be competing during the 2006 race season will be, IMCA Mods
(non-sanctioned), Grand Nationals, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks and the 4
Cylinders.
Not many of the rules changed from the 2005 race season which the drivers
liked. The idea was to keep the same classes with out change to keep the cost
to the drivers down. The Hobby Stock division was added in hopes to bring a
natural progression for the drivers to move up from 4 Cylinders to Street
Stocks.
A tentative schedule was released at this time with the opening date of
Friday, April 28. The race night will be changed form Tuesday to a Friday
night in hopes that the change will be a positive, "NEW START"
to the Oshkosh Speed Zone Raceway.
There will be a Test, Tune and Inspection held on Saturday April 15 and 22 in
the afternoon. Following the last Test, Tune and Inspection on the 22, there
will be a welcome back for the drivers with complementary food and beverages
served in the pit area.
Impact Motorsports LLC (the "NEW" promoter) anticipate a bigger and
better season for the Oshkosh Speed Zone Raceway.
