Prestige Custom Cabinetry Modified Special To Open The 2004 Winnebago County Fair

OSHKOSH, WI - Top modified drivers from throughout Wisconsin are expected to converge on the Powercom Speed Zone Tuesday night, August 10th for the Prestige Custom Cabinetry 30, a $2000-to-win special event that will kick off the 2004 Winnebago County Fair.

A total payout of $10,000 has been posted for the program with all drivers making the feature event collecting at least $150.  Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legend Cars and Corporate Impressions Dirt Devils will also compete.

"This is a similar program to what we had at Powercom Park with the Superstar Showdown back in June," said Wisconsin Motorsports General Manager Rex Melius.  "We brought in about 80 cars for that race and it turned out to be a solid night of racing.  I expect a great turnout at Oshkosh for this race.

"The Speed Zone is more centrally located to many of the drivers in Northeastern Wisconsin.  It opens the door for many of those guys to come down and race.  The payoff is excellent.  With that kind of money on the line you can expect the best of the best to be in the show."

Jay Schraufnagel, who currently leads the point standings for the Budweiser Modified division at the Speed Zone, topped the Superstar Showdown race at Powercom Park.  He will be a leading contender to do the same thing on August 10th.

Benji LaCrosse, Tim Lemirande, Mike Mashl, and Sean Jerovetz chased Schraufnagel across the line in that event.  All are expected to take part in the Speed Zone show.  As many as 60 cars are expected.

"It was tough just to make the show at Beaver Dam.  It made for some great racing all night long.  Every event meant something.  We're going to follow the same formula at Oshkosh so it should prove equally exciting," Melius said.

Pit gates will open at 2:00 pm for this show with the first race slated to take the green flag at 7:00 pm.  The Speed Zone is located just off of Highway 41 on Highway 76 north of Oshkosh.  For more information contact the track office at (920) 887-1600.  Pre-entry forms are available at www.wismotorsports.net
