Happy Holidays
from Madison International Speedway to all of our racing friends.
I
have included a tentative 2007 racing schedule. We are very excited about the
upcoming season and a quick glance at the schedule will prove why.

Announces 2007 Schedule
Oregon, WI (Friday, December 22, 2006)
Madison International Speedway promoter Dave Grueneberg has been diligently
working to put together a 2007 schedule that would feature something for
everyone. A quick glance at the schedule proves that Grueneberg was
successful. “We are very excited about the 2007 season at MIS. I believe we
have put together an awesome schedule that will feature outstanding weekly
shows and some incredible special events,” noted Grueneberg.
The 2007
season will feature three weekly divisions which include the Madison Late
Models, Limited Late Models, and Bandits. “We really want to establish three
very competitive weekly divisions with solid car counts. A fourth division
will be added each week and will feature a wide variety of cars,” added
Grueneberg.
The 2007 season will commence on Saturday, April 28 with an
open practice from Noon to 5:00 PM for all divisions. The opening race weekend
will occur on May 5th and 6th with an open practice from Noon to 5:00 PM on
Saturday, May 5th and Opening Day on Sunday, May 6th. Highlighting opening day
at MIS will be the return of the Wisconsin Challenge Series (WCS) and exciting
super late model action. Joining the WCS on the opening day racing program
will be the Bandits, LG Hobby Stocks, and Super Cups.
Friday night
racing begins on May 11th with the three weekly divisions plus Legends and
Bandoleros. “We’ve had a lot of interest from the small cars who want to
come and race on the quarter mile,” said Grueneberg.
Here’s a
sampling of the exciting special events coming to MIS in 2007:
May
26th: USAR Hooters Pro Cup…this event will feature drivers from across
America.
June 22nd: Fireworks Night…the area’s biggest and best
June
26th: RK Race Promotions present Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart competing in a
super late model event.
July 7th: ASA Northern Series…see the
traveling stars take on our local heroes
July 20th: ASA Midwest
Tour…super late model event
August 3rd: Super Late Model 100 Lap
Special
August 31st: Season Championships
September 7th:
Wisconsin Challenge Series (WCS)
September 21st-22nd: MIS Fall
Classic…what a way to cap off the season!
Plans are currently in the
works for an MIS Fall Classic to take place on September 21 and 22. This event
will feature many different divisions from MIS and area tracks. Keep your eyes
and ears open for more information on this exciting event that will surely
become a “classic.”
The Midwest Super Truck Series will be at MIS
on June 8th and August 24th.
A division featuring former LGR Super
Stocks / Hobby Stocks / Pure Stocks will be at MIS on May 6th, May 25th, June
29th, and August 31st. Rules on this division are being finalized and more
information will be forthcoming.
Legends and Bandoleros will come to
Madison on May 11th, June 15th, June 26th, July 13th, and August10th.
Other
special divisions on the schedule include a Mini Stock / American Short
Tracker event on May 18th, and the thrilling train race on August 17th and the
trailer race on September 7th.
Local celebrities and officials
will also have their night under the lights with the Faster Pastors in action
on May 25th, area sports broadcasters on June 1st, and local disc jockeys on
July 27th. Other groups will also be taking on the quarter mile and will be
announced at a later date. All of
the top finishers will be back on August 24th for a Champions race.
The
schedule is tentative and subject to change.
