Tyler Full Time At Madison And Part Time ASALMS In 2007

Stoughton, Wisconsin (12/06/2006): Tyler Motorsports with Driver Jason Tyler
has announced their intentions for the 2007 season which includes running the
full schedule of events at their home track of the Madison (WI) International
Speedway in Oregon, Wisconsin for the 2007 season with hopes of unseating
two-time/defending ASA Late Model Division Champion, Bobby Wilberg.
In addition, Tyler Motorsports has also announced plans to return to the ASA
Late Model Series in 2007, after not competing at all in 2006, after Jason’s
rookie season in 2005. Tyler plans on a select schedule of shows, when the
teams’ Madison Schedule allows, in both the ASALMS Challenge and Northern
Divisions.
Amongst the highlights of Tyler’s 2007 schedule besides the run for the 2007
Track Championship at the Oregon, Wisconsin speed plant is the ASALMS Northern
Division’s event at Madison on Saturday July 7, 2007; The Wisconsin 100.
Also on Tyler’s schedule will be the ASALMS Challenge and Northern Divisions
events at the Rockford (IL) Speedway, the Milwaukee (WI) Mile, LaCrosse (WI)
Fairgrounds Speedway, and other dates to be announced in the near future.
“We have put together an awesome program for 2007” States Tyler. “The
team and I are very excited for the 2007 season.” “We have everything in
order to be the best and we are planning to prove it!” Tyler added.
During the 2006 season, Tyler competed primarily at the Madison (WI)
International Speedway in the tracks ASA Late Model Division and despite
missing six events, the Stoughton, Wisconsin driver finished a solid 10th
place in the final point’s standings.
Tyler racked up three Top Five finishes including a season high second place
showing on June 9, 2006 behind eventual 2006 Track Champion, Bobby Wilberg. In
Addition, Tyler also won the Fast Qualifier Award the week before. Overall
Tyler scored five Top 15 finishes in just eight starts.
He also won one of the two Last Chance Qualifiers during the All-Star Showdown
at Madison Featuring former NASCAR Winston/NEXTEL Cup Champions, Matt Kenseth
and Tony Stewart and finally Tyler made select appearances in the Wisconsin
Challenge Series. Tyler was third fastest qualifier at Madison and won a
Qualifier at the Golden Sands (WI) Speedway in Plover, Wisconsin.
The 27-year-old began his auto racing career in 2002 and spent two seasons
with the Midwest Trucks Series. In 2002, Tyler finished fourth in points and
was named Rookie of the Year in the Truck Series. In 2003 he was sixth in
points.
In 2004 Tyler made the big move up to the ASA Late Model Division at Madison
and finished seventh in points. Tyler also made select appearances with the
ASA Late Model Series in 2004 posting a season high 11th place finish at
Madison during the Trackside Charities 100 on September 11, 2004.
During the 2005 season, Tyler’s rookie campaign in the ASALMS, the
Stoughton, Wisconsin pilot finished a Season high 11th at the Gibson Chevrolet
100 at the Illiana (IN) Motor Speedway On July 23, 2005. While finishing 21st
overall in the point’s standings, Tyler also finished 11th in the Pat
Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title chase.
Tyler also took two wins in the ASALMS GM Performance Parts Shootouts. His two
wins came at the 2005 opener at the Baer Field (IN) Speedway on May 7, 2005,
and again at the Hawkeye Downs (IA) Speedway on September 2, 2005 to finish in
fifth place in the final GM Performance Parts Shootout Points Standings.
In addition to Tyler’s run in the ASA Late Model Series, he also ran in the
ASA Late Model Division at the Madison (WI) International Speedway on Friday
nights during the season when his schedule allowed.
In his limited appearances, Tyler finished 13th in the final points standings
despite missing three events. Tyler boasted four Top 10 finishes including a
season high seventh place finish twice. The first seventh place showing came
on July 29, 2005 and then again two weeks later on August 12, 2005.
For the 2007 season, Tyler will carry support from Bryant Heating and Cooling
by T.S.I. of Madison, Wisconsin and Hometown America.com aboard a brand new
Lefthander Chassis, which will be fitted with an ARP/Aluminum Racing Products
Body.
