MIS E-News
Week of October 6, 2006
by John Wells
Greetings MIS fans, drivers, and sponsors. The MIS E-News will be coming out
approximately twice monthly during the off-season unless issues arise that
warrant more frequent updates. The off-season is a very busy time at Madison
International Speedway and we will be having several very important
announcements coming up in the very near future.
Decisions are being made as to which divisions will be racing weekly at MIS in
2006 along with the completion of a tentative racing schedule for the season.
This information will be passed on to you via the MIS E-News as soon as it is
available.
I urge all of you who have any questions regarding Madison International
Speedway to contact Steve at miseinhaus@yahoo.com
or Dave at misdaveg@yahoo.com.
It's hard to believe that the 2006 racing season at MIS has been over for a
month already. Hopefully you have been able to check out some of the end of
the year specials at many of the area tracks including LaCrosse and Rockford.
If at all possible be sure to check out the final races at the Lake Geneva
Raceway as the track will be shutting down at the completion of this season.
With many short tracks closing across the country and few, if any, being built
to take their place, it's important that we all support local racing.
2006 Fan Favorites Announced
I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to email me with your
selections for our 2006 Fan Favorite Awards. Winning drivers will be

different fans took part in this year's voting. A total of forty-seven drivers
received votes in the five weekly divisions.

feature win at MIS in 2006, he also was selected as the Fan Favorite for
2006...Zack Riddle.

championship and the Favorite Driver Award for 2006 was Jeremy Miller.
Bryden Motors Area Sportsman: In the closest voting of all five divisions,
Ryan Goldade picked up the Favorite Driver Award for the second year in a row.
Club La Mark Hobby Stocks: Mike Storkson can add the Favorite Driver Award to
his resume as he took home the top honors to go along with his track

So have you noticed the guys running out of gas on the final couple of laps?
How about the Pack up 9-7 at half and another loss?
In our lives we want to finish the whole race, the whole game. We need to
finish well. The cool thing about God is that if we have not started the best
we can have a come from behind win. At any point we can turn our lives over to
Him and do what He wants ~ for us to be faithful and obedient to His Word. So
I hope you are on the right track and on your way to finishing well (Acts
20:24.) And if you need to turn around, go for it. I am studying with a group
on Sunday night and this week we spoke about two kings of the Old Testament
and how one finish well and one fell with pride.
So I hope you are running the race of faith well and finish well
That's all for this week.
