Racing Will Be Red Hot This Friday At Madison International Speedway

Monday, July 31, 2006 (Oregon, WI) - Officials at Madison International Speedway have put the finishing touches on a major racing event planned for Friday, August 4th.  Highlighting the racing program will be the Union Laborers 464 "100" presented by TDS for the Weaver Auto Parts Madison ASA Late Models.

It will be a full afternoon and evening of racing action with a large field of Madison ASA Late Models expected to do battle on Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile.  Drivers from several midwestern states are expected to join the more than thirty weekly drivers who call MIS home.

Practice for the Madison ASA Late Models will actually get going with a session scheduled for 1:30 - 3:30 with qualifying slated for 5:00 PM.  Support divisions for this program include the Roto Rooter Bandits and Bryden Motors Area Sportsman with an additional division possible.  These divisions will be practicing from 3:30 - 4:30 and again from 5:45 to 6:05.

Fans of all ages will be treated to an on-track autograph session from 6:15 to 7:15.  This will give the fans an opportunity to meet and greet the drivers as well as listen to Nashville recording artist the Jessi Lynn Band who will be performing in the infield.

Racing action will begin at 7:30.

"Fans definitely want to be here for this one.  We are expecting a great field of cars and they will put on a good show.  Fans will also have a chance to talk to the drivers and listen to the Jessi Lynn Band while doing so," said MIS general manager Dave Grueneberg.

Fan gates are encouraged to come early and enjoy practice in the afternoon.  For more information check out the track website at www.madisoninternationalspeedway.com or call the track at 608.835.9700.
