Super Late Models Return To MIS This Friday Night
Monday, June 26, 2006 (Oregon, WI) - High speed super late model racing
returns to Madison International Speedway this Friday night (June 30th) when
Culvers and WJJO 94.1 present the first annual Champions Invitational 100.
Eighteen invited drivers will have automatic starting positions in the
twenty-six car, one hundred lap feature that will take place on Wisconsin's
Fastest Half-Mile. Included in the field are former MIS track champions
Rich Bickle Jr (1985-1986), Scott Ollerman (1997), Dave Feiler
(1998,2002,2003), Dale Nottestad (2004) and Conrad Morgan (1983,1984,1992).
All totaled these drivers have over seventy feature wins at MIS. Other
drivers in the starting lineup include Brian Johnson Jr, Nathan Haseleu, Jeff
Storm, Jamie Wallace, Matt Kocourek, Steve Rubeck, Steve Holzhausen, Steve
Carlson, Tim Schendel, Andrew Morrrissey, Frank Kreyer, Jeremy Lepak, and

"This is an awesome field," noted promoter Steve Einhaus, "and
the competiton for the remaining eight positions is going to be
stiff." Six of the remaining eight positions will be based on
qualifying with the final two spots coming out of the last chance race.
"We are expecting a large field of cars to be on hand."
"We are excited that most of the drivers we invited accepted the
challenge. The fans are going to see some great super late model racing
at Wisconsin's Track of Champions this Friday night," added Einhaus. The
drivers will be competing for a first prize purse of $2000.00.
This event caps off a major stretch of racing events in June beginning with
the Firecracker 75 last Friday, the First Supply All Star Challenge on
Tuesday, and the Champions Invitational. "What a week of racing at
MIS. Our fans are the real winners in all of this as they will have the
opportunity to see the best of the best in action," said Einhaus.
Also in action on Friday night will be the Bryden Motors Area Sportsman, Club
La Mark Hobby Stocks, and Roto Rooter Bandits. All three of these weekly
divisions will be competing on the quarter mile.
Pit gates open at 3:30, hot laps begin at 4:45, qualifying at 6:45 with racing
