Two Nights Of Racing At MIS This Weekend: ASALM Challenge Series Comes To Town
by John Wells
Sunday, May 21, 2006 (Oregon, WI) Race fans are in for a real treat this
weekend when Madison International Speedway hosts a double header of action on
Friday and Saturday night. Highlighting the weekend's racing action will
be the running of the Miller Lite 200 for the ASA Late Model Challenge Series
on Saturday night.
The action kicks off on Friday night with an open practice session for all ASA
Late Model Challenge Series competitors along with racing action in the Roto
Rooter Bandits and Club La Mark Hobby Stocks.
"We are excited about showcasing these two divisions on Friday
night," said promoter Steve Einhaus. The Hobby Stock Showdown will
be paying $250.00 to the winner while the Battle of the Bandits will pay
$200.00.
The ASA Late Model Challenge Series will take center stage on Saturday when
things will get under way at noon with the first practice session.
Joining the ASALM cars on the racing program will be the debut of the Midwest
Super Truck Series.
Qualifying will take place at 3:30 followed by an on-track autograph session
at 5:30. The first race of the night will begin at 7:00 PM with a
twenty-five lap shootout for the ASALM cars followed by a thirty-five lap
feature for the Super Trucks. The running of the Miller Lite 200 for the
ASALM Challenge Series is scheduled for approximately 8:30 PM.
