MIS on Madison Television This Tuesday Night
Be sure to check out Paul Garcia's report on the new quarter mile on Tuesday
night's sports broadcasts at 6:00 and 10:00 on WKOW TV Channel 27 in Madison.
Weather Takes Hold on Season Opener
Despite nearly perfect weather for our season opener on May 7th, Mother Nature
was not willing to cooperate for our Friday opener as cold and rainy
conditions had their grips on most of Wisconsin. The decision to postpone both
the Friday and Saturday night events was actually made on Thursday.
The combination of the rain that had fallen along with an ominous forecast
fostered the decision to call off racing before race day. "We have
drivers and fans that come from a long ways. We looked at the conditions and
the forecast and felt it was best to make the decision when we did," said
Steve Einhaus.
The Night of Destruction events will be rescheduled for Saturday, July 22.
This Week at MIS
This Friday will be our Friday season opener with all five divisions in action
including the Weaver Auto Parts ASA Late Models, Rockweiler Insulation Limited
Late Models, Bryden Motors Area Sportsman, Club La Mark Hobby Stocks, and the
Roto Rooter Bandits. Hot laps will begin at 5:00 with ASALM and LLM qualifying
set for 6:45 and the first race set for 7:30. Friday will also be round one of
the four race Wayne's Custom DIECAST Dash Series for the limited late models.
Soon MIS fans will be able to participate in the Pick Five Contest. All you
have to do is correctly select all five feature winners and you can win
$50.00. If there is more than one winner the prize money will be divided. If
there are no winners, the prize money rolls over to the next event.
Fans can also listen for in car interviews during caution periods, fan
contests and games, and much more.
Attention Race Teams
ASALM and LLM race teams are reminded that they will need to have transponders
in 2006. You can pick these up at the track during the week by contacting

number of entries for each division. Friday night's activities will feature

leadership of Chris Stocks. The series has had their first two events fall
victim to the weather.

Questions and Answers
Question: From Oregon: Can we use our receipts for $2.00 off this year?
Answer: Yes...not for the June 27th event though.
Question: From South Beloit: I'm interested in finding out more about the
Bandits. Who can I talk to?
Answer: If you want to talk with the drivers while they are preparing for the
race you will need to purchase a pit pass. Otherwise, we'd encourage you to
stop in the pits after the races.
Question: From Madison: Where can we get more information about the VIP
suites?
Answer: Contact the track office at 608.835.9700 and leave a message for
Debbie Lund. There are a variety of rental opportunities available.
Question: From Janesville: How come the racing results aren't in my local
paper?
Answer: We send the results out to most of the area newspapers. If your local
paper doesn't have the results check with them to see if they are receiving
them from us.
Get Your Tickets for the June 27th Race
On opening day, Jeff Lockridge had the opportunity to interview RK Race
Promotions Media Director Kevin Ramsell who said that ticket sales for their
June 27th race at MIS are going very well, but that many tickets are still
available. Fans can go to mattkenseth.com to order their tickets. This is
going to be one of the top shows in the midwest this summer.
Media Watch
We would like to thank the Wisconsin State Journal, The Capital Times, and
Wisconsin Sports Weekly for their stories the past couple of weeks.
Chaplain's Corner
by Todd Christopherson
What a great weekend (Season Opener) of racing we have had. It was good to see
everyone and to look forward to the season.
I have been thinking about tires lately. You know when one is a little out of
balance, the wobble you feel. Think about that as you get up to speed and then
it is a shake as you go through the corners. Then is starts to pull hard and
then the pop, NO! The wall is right there. The worse put is if we recognize
the start it is just a pit and go. But if we ignore it we can wreck the car
completely.
Same way with sin. We read "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory
of God. We are to recognize sin and confess it (1John 1:9). So today take a
minute and ask God to search you heart for sin (Ps 139/ Ps 51) and confess it.
We want to catch that sin early before it really hurts us. Sin is a choice, it
is our choice and we have to take personal responsibly for the sin. Remember
sin damages our relationship with God on High.
Do you need prayer. Stop me and lets pray together.
Thanks,
Todd
