Erik Darnell Returns To MIS For Season Opener

Tuesday, May 2, 2006 (Oregon, WI) - NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Erik Darnell will be returning to Madison International Speedway for the season opener on Sunday, May 7th as part of the Miller Classic.

Darnell, who won  Roush Racing's Gong Show to earn a spot in the Craftsman trucks, will be trying to earn a spot in the Miller Classic 100 for the Wisconsin Challenge Series.  A field of over fifty super late models is expected to battle it out for twenty-four starting positions in the "Classic."

Qualifying is set for 2:00 PM with the first race slated for 3:30 PM.  The Big Eight Limited Late Model Series and Madison's Roto Rooter Bandits will also be in action.  The four cylinder Bandits will mark the first-ever race on the newly installed quarter mile oval.
