Milwaukee, Wis. (April 10, 2007) – Four miles separate the world headquarters of Palermo’s Pizza, founded in 1964, and The Milwaukee Mile, the world’s oldest active speedway.

Today, officials from both Wisconsin icons announced a marketing partnership, making Palermo’s the “Official Pizza of The Milwaukee Mile.”

“Palermo’s is proud to be associated with one of America’s most storied speedways.  We look forward to offering our pizzeria-quality pizza products to Milwaukee Mile race fans and corporate guests this coming race season,” commented Giacomo Fallucca, President Palermo’s Pizza.  “Exposure to nearly a million race fans and fairgoers throughout the year will be a great benefit to us.”

The Milwaukee Mile is pleased to feature the premium quality of Palermo’s brand pizzas both trackside and in its hospitality areas, in addition to integrating Palermo’s into the speedway’s marketing initiatives.

“Our loyal race fans will really enjoy the quality Palermo’s products we will have available for them this season.  With their long history, Palermo’s is a great addition to our growing list of Milwaukee Mile marketing partners who realize the value of visibility and partnering with us on cohesive initiatives targeting the most loyal of all sports fans,” stated Aaron Hart, Milwaukee Mile VP – Sales.

Terms of the agreement were not announced.

Every pizza that carries the Palermo's name is made with the greatest care and pride, from the finest ingredients available, Palermo’s Pizza products are made with 100% real Italian style cheeses, and a secret blend of sauces, herbs and spices from recipes that traveled with Papa Palermo all the way from Sicily.

Gaspare "Jack" Fallucca, better known as Papa Palermo, and his wife Zina came to America from Sicily and took up residence in Milwaukee.  In 1964, they opened Palermo Villa, a small Italian bakery on the east side of Milwaukee, where they made and sold Italian bread, cookies, cannoli for wholesale and retail.

The frozen pizza business began in 1978 with the manufacturing of frozen pizza breads and has grown over the years to the point that Palermo’s is now one of the leader manufacturers of premium frozen pizza in the United States.  Today, Palermo’s brand frozen pizzas are in the Top 20 for U.S. frozen pizza sales, lead by Palermo’s Primo Thin brand which features an ultra thin crispy crust and 12 unique flavor varieties. Palermo’s brand frozen pizzas are available at supermarkets and Club Stores throughout Wisconsin, the Midwest and the U.S. as a whole.  For more information, visit their website, www.palermospizza.com
