ARCA RE/MAX Series Milwaukee Mile Style
Kimmel to Face Driver Development Teams for Governor’s Cup 200

WEST ALLIS WI (8-11-06)—One year ago, Frank Kimmel earned a hard-fought ARCA RE/MAX Series victory at the Milwaukee Mile despite a healthy crop of driver development entries entered for the 150-mile event.

This year, Kimmel will likely need to face a similar batch of eager young challengers in his quest to defend the race title. The seven-time and defending ARCA RE/MAX Series champion joins developmental drivers from both Roush Racing and Dodge Motorsports for the Sunday, August 27th Governor’s Cup 200, as both Pete Shepherd III and Chase Miller have entered the event.

Shepherd, a native of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, has entered the race in a No. 39 Roulo Brothers Ford with sponsorship from Griddly Headz, Reliance Tool and Beavex. In his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut at Gateway Int’l Raceway on July 28, the 19-year-old driver finished fourth. He plans on competing in six ARCA RE/MAX Series races in 2006 with support from Roush Racing.

From the Dodge Motorsports developmental ranks, Canton, Georgia’s Chase Miller has entered Milwaukee in the No. 4 Dodge Motorsports Dodge for Cunningham Motorsports. Miller earned his career first ARCA RE/MAX Series victory at Pocono Raceway in June. It was only the 19-year-old driver’s fifth career start.

But if Kimmel, Shepherd or Miller are to find victory lane at Milwaukee, they will have to battle a full field of competitors gunning for a victory at the one-mile paved oval. Other drivers entered for the 200-mile event include four-time Daytona ARCA 200 winner Bobby Gerhart, Dexter Bean, A.J. Henriksen, Ricky Sanders, Brad Smith, Blake Bjorklund, Mike Harmon and leading 18-year-old Rookie of the Year contender Ryan Foster. Foster, currently third in ARCA RE/MAX Series national championship points, is a teammate to Kimmel for the 2006 season.

Past ARCA RE/MAX Series winners at Milwaukee include Rodger Ward, Tony Bettenhausen, Sr., Fred Lorenzen, Dean Roper, Dave Weltmeyer and Kimmel.
