MARS Point Leader Faces Stiff Test At The Milwaukee Mile
WEST ALLIS, WI -- Jeff Van Oudenhoven of Kimberly, WI, the current point
leader in the Midwest AllStar Racing Series, will face a stiff test from late
model stock car drivers from around the nation Sunday afternoon in the Governor's
Cup 50 at The Milwaukee Mile.
Van Oudenhoven is a two-time series champion and drives for former Matt
Kenseth car owner Mike Butz of Green Bay, WI. He recently moved
back into the series point lead following back-to-back wins at Wisconsin
International Raceway in Kaukauna.
Among the advance entries are NASCAR Nextel Cup racer Jason Leffler of
Trinity, NC, former NASCAR driver Dick Trickle of Iron Station, NC, MARS
rookie leader Dean Cornelius of Chaska, MN, nine-time NASCAR Touring champion
and MARS Series opener winner Steve Carlson of West Salem, WI, two-time
Mid-American champion Jeff Storm of East Troy, WI, many time Chicagoland
champion Eddie Hoffman of Lombard, IL, ASL rookie point leader Ryan Mathews of
Lake Geneva, WI, two-time Midwest Sportsman champion Jeremy Miller of Rockton,
IL, NASCAR Auto Zone point leader Justin Diercks of Davenport, IA, defending
Governor's Cup winner Danny Fredrickson of Elko, MN and 2004 LaCrosse Speedway
champion Charlie Menard of Eau Claire, WI.
Qualifying begins at 11 a.m. on the one-mile oval. A 40-lap Mid-Am Super
Truck Series feature starts at 1:30 p.m. followed by the MARS late model 50 at
2:10 p.m. and the 200-lap NASCAR Auto Zone 200 at 3 p.m.
