SPEEDFEST - A Different Kind of Rock & Roll Festival Speeds Into West Bend
West Bend, Wis. (July 14, 2005) – The stars of the Indianapolis 500 are
coming to West Bend! The 2nd Annual “SPEEDFEST” will be roaring into
West Bend this Wednesday July 20, at Stocky’s Fast Track indoor karting
facility, leading up to the Sunday, July 24 IRL IndyCar Series race at The
Milwaukee Mile.
Husar’s House of Fine Diamonds, Stocky’s Fast Track, The Milwaukee Mile,
The Indy Racing League (IRL), the Gehl Company, Coca-Cola and Miller Brewing
are kicking off the ABC Supply / A.J. Foyt 225 IRL IndyCar Series race weekend
with even more speed than before.
Admission to SPEEDFEST is FREE to experience all the activities, which include
driver appearances and driver autographs, climbing behind the wheel of a real
IndyCar to race in a simulator video game, an IndyCar pit stop challenge, live
music from regional favorites Oil Can Harry and national recording artist
Chasin Mason, and more.
The attractions will be inside and around Stocky’s Fast Track, 6389
Stockhausen Lane from 12 p.m. until 11pm. Live music on the Indy Racing
Live stage will be part of the action, with the Indy Racing Challenge, The
Indy Racing Pit Stop Challenge making this a hands-on fan experience!
The Indy Racing Live stage will host local favorites ‘Oil Can Harry’ from
6pm to 9pm and National Recording Artist Chasin Mason from 9pm to 11pm this
Wednesday evening.
The Indy Racing Challenge is a high-performance mobile racing simulator using
actual IRL Indy Car Series Cars that allow fans to drive their favorite
driver’s Indy car around Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Indy Racing Pit Stop Challenge offers race fans a hands-on experience at
servicing an actual Indy Car Series race car including a tire change challenge
and a hands-on refueling simulation.
“We are excited to share the IRL racing experience with loyal fans and hope
to make a few new ones,” said Mike Husar, President of Husar’s House of
Fine Diamonds. “The racing simulator and the pit stop challenge are
activities fans can usually only experience at the race track SPEEDFEST is
going to be a lot of fun and the best part is all proceeds from the food and
beverage sales are being donated to the West Bend Christmas Parade Fund!”
In addition, Milwaukee Mile event tickets to all three days of action July
22-24 will be available for purchase.
