Mid-American Stock Car News

Monday, January 9, 2006 (Fort Atkinson, WI)  The Racers Auction and Trade Show in Rockford, IL hosted many racing related booths Friday and Saturday, including the busy Mid-American Stock Car booth.  On display was the immaculate car owned by Troy Shear.  Troy has registered his number 6 car for the 2006 season with Mid-American Stock Car Series and hopes to compete in a few of the 14 scheduled Series races.

The Mid-American 2006 Race Schedule was unveiled this weekend.  The schedule promotes a busy but team friendly 14-race summer.  Mid-American is excited to announce a return to two tracks this year missing from recent schedules.  Grundy County Speedway, Morris, IL will host the Mid-American Series along with the ASA Late Model Series on Monday afternoon, Memorial Day, May 29th.  The afternoon program promises many laps of excitement on the 1/3 mile semi-banked asphalt oval.  Also back for 2006 is Golden Sands Speedway, Plover, WI. Golden Sands is also a 1/3 mile asphalt action packed track.  The Mid-American Stock Cars will mix it up with the local Super Stocks on a Friday evening, the date being most likely early August.  The exact date will be announced soon.

Many of the tracks Mid American Stock Cars have raced for years have returned for 2006.  Kicking off the Mid-American season will be Rockford Speedway’s Spring Classic race on April 1st and 2nd.  The high-banked short track in Rockford, IL will host a second date of September 24th with the traditional National Short Track Championship weekend. Lake Geneva Raceway, in beautiful Lake Geneva, WI will also host two dates. Lynch GM Superstore will sponsor the race on June 17th and Mid-Am will help bring the Lake Geneva Raceway season to a close on September 30th and October 1st.  Tentatively joining the short tracks on the schedule is 141 Speedway, Francis Creek, WI with two dates that guarantee action on June 24th and September 2nd.

Mid-American Stock Cars will also be spreading their wings on the longer tracks this year again with the long-standing Red, White and Blue series at Kaukauna Wisconsin’s challenging Wisconsin International Raceway.  WIR, a banked 1/2 mile asphalt track, has scheduled the R,W&B dates on June 10th, July 22nd and August 19th respectively.  LaCrosse Speedway at the fairgrounds in West Salem, WI will play host to hundreds of race cars on the Octoberfest  weekend.  The Mid-American cars will put forth their best on Saturday, October 7th on the semi-banked 5/8 mile asphalt track.  In a bit of last minute news, Madison International Speedway, Oregon, WI invited the Mid-American Stock cars to show ‘em what they’ve got on the 1/2 mile horsepower track June 23rd.

The prestigious Milwaukee Mile rounds out the Mid-American Stock Car schedule.  On the weekend of August 25th, 26th and 27th, the historic Milwaukee Mile will once again present the Governor’s Cup weekend.  Mid-American will put on their best as they share the weekend with the ARCA Re/Max Series, the ASA Late Model Series and the Wisconsin Challenge Series.  The Governor’s Cup weekend has provided many years of a weekend loaded with big track racing action and promises no less for 2006.  Mid-American is proud to be a part of this weekend.

The Mid-American Stock Cars Series will host an awards banquet Saturday, January 28 for the 2005 Stock Cars, Classics, Trucks and MARS Stars.  A three entrée buffet dinner will be followed by distribution of trophies, awards and the point fund.  New Series owners, Doug and Julie Strasburg hope to bring the end of MARS and Trucks era to closure on a high note with the banquet and an evening of music and dancing.  The banquet will also serve as the launch pad for a new generation Mid-American Stock Car Series.  Information on the Mid-American Stock Car Series and the banquet may be found at www.midamericanracing.com.
