Senerchia Nails Down First Mid-Am Stock Car Win
LAKE GENEVA, WI -- John Senerchia nailed down his first ever win in the
Mid-American Stock Car Series Sunday night at the Lake Geneva Raceway.
Senerchia took the lead on the 12th lap of the 35-lap rain delayed
feature. The event was scheduled as an afternoon program, but a two-hour
rain delay resulted in the race being run under the lights.
Rick Rowlett led the opening five rounds before veteran Lyle Nowak shot
past. Senerchia worked his way past Nowak on lap 12. On the 18th
circuit Erik Pierce and series point leader Bill Prietzel broke past Nowak and
attempted to catch Senerchia. Pierce saw his chance of a win go out the
window when he spun in turn three on lap 24 when he was on Senerchia's rear
bumper.
Jeremy Spoonmore got around Prietzel on lap 31 to take second. Prietzel
held onto a third place finish with fast qualifier Kenny Smart fourth, Ken
Joosten fifth and Nowak sixth.
The next Mid-American Stock Car Series race is Saturday night, Oct. 8 at the
LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, WI.
