Mathews To Race In Two Divisions At Tuesday Night Shootout August 2

KAUKAUNA, WI -- Ryan Mathews, coming off the biggest win of his career several weeks ago, will be competing in two divisions at the Tuesday Night Shootout at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna August 2.   Time trials are planned for 4 p.m. with racing at 7:15 p.m.

Mathews won the most recent American StockCar League 150-lap feature race at I-94 Raceway in Sauk Centre, MN.   He is ranked second in the ASL point standings and is ninth overall in the Midwest AllStar Racing Series (MARS) late model division.

The Lake Geneva race car driver will compete in both the ASL 150 and B & B Race Engines 44-Lap Late Model Shootout for the Wally Jors Memorial Cup on August 2.

The Royal Rumble 30 for Mid-Am Super Trucks and Mid-American Stock Cars will also be on the Aug. 2 racing card.

Mathews started his career running mini sprints on dirt tracks.  He ran three years in the Mid-Am Super Truck Series where he recorded several wins and numerous top five finishes.  Mathews has run very strong in late models throughout the Midwest.   He put together an ASA National Tour program for 2004, but ASA went out of business and the ASL was formed this past February in an effort to continue racing for the fuel-injected cars.

Wisconsin International Raceway is located at the intersection of Highway 55 and County Trunk KK, three miles south of Kaukauna.   Consult the series website at www.asl-midamracing.com for more information.

Free parking and overnight camping are both offered at the Kaukauna track.   The first 200 fans arriving Tuesday, Aug. 2  will receive customer appreciation bags filled with racing items worth more than $10.   The track phone is 920-766-5577.
