Prietzel Holds Commanding Point Leading Heading Into Kaukauna
KAUKAUNA, WI -- Bill Prietzel, a two-time series champion, holds a commanding
lead in the Mid-American Stock Car Series point standings heading into the
next series race Saturday night, July 23 at the Wisconsin International
Raceway in Kaukauna.
The Mid-American cars will run in conjuction with the MARS Late Models and
FRRC Limited Late Models and Vintage Grand Nationals on the WIR half-mile
paved track with racing to begin at 7 p.m. The races are all part of the
annual Red, White & Blue State Championship Series.
Prietzel has piled up 960 points while second place Jason Taghikhani, an
engineering student at Marquette University, has 798.
Former Jefferson Speedway late model champion Scott Null is third with
743. Lyle Nowak, with multiple late model and Legends titles at
Wausau and Tomahawk, is fourth with 743.
Andrew Ruthenbeck, another college student, is fifth with 593.
The top eight drivers in point standings after the July 23rd race are eligible
to compete in the Royal Rumble Mid-American Stock Car vs. Mid-Am Super Truck
race Tuesday night, Aug. 2 at WIR. That event is being run in
conjunction with the American StockCar League (ASL) 150 and the B & B Race
Engines Tuesday Night Late Model Shootout for the Wally Jors Memorial Cup.
