Miller, Rothe Added To Tuesday Night Shootout At WIR
KAUKAUNA, WI -- Jeremy Miller of Rockton, IL and Tim Rothe of Appleton, WI are
two drivers who will be competing against the top ten in the Midwest AllStar
Racing Series (MARS) late model point standings in the Tuesday Night Shootout
Aug. 2 at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna.
The race, sponsored by B & B Race Engines, will be held in conjunction
with the American StockCar League 150 and Royal Rumble Mid-American Stock Car
vs. Mid-Am Super Truck 30-Lap feature on the D-shaped half-mile paved WIR
track.
Qualifying for the ASL division is slated for 4 p.m. followed by late model,
Mid-American and Mid-Am Truck practices, an autograph session from 5 to 6 p.m.
and racing at 7:15 p.m.
Miller is a former late model rookie of the year at Rockford Speedway.
He is the 2003 and 2004 Midwest Sportsman Series champion. In 2004 he
was winningest Mid-American Stock Car Series driver and helds one-lap records
at several tracks. He is currently ranked in the top five in the late
model points as a rookie at Madison International Speedway.
Rothe is a winner in the Mid-American Stock Car division at the Milwaukee Mile
and has one Red, White & Blue State Championship feature win. He is
consitently a top feature runner at WIR in the Thursday night Fox River Racing
Club programs. Rothe also formerly was a top driver in the NASCAR Auto
Zone Elite Series.
"Miller and Rothe are both hard charging, exciting drivers to
watch," noted Mid-American Stock Car, Inc president Gary Vercauteren.
"At least six other drivers will be added to this race. The winner
will be awarded the Wally Jors Cup, honoring a former Thursday night and Red,
White & Blue Series regular who was outstanding in both paved track and
dirt racing across the state.
An announcement concerning the complete list of cars for the 44-lap B & B
Race Engines AllStar Shootout will be made following the Red,
White & Blue event Saturday night, Aug. 23.
"We'll update the points after the Aug. 23 race and see who is in
automatically," Vercauteren said. "Then we'll add some more
feature contenders so the race fans will see a truely outstandings field of
drivers," he added.
The raceway is located at the corner of Highway 55 and County Trunk KK, three
miles west of Kaukauna. Free overnight camping is offered at the track
for traveling race fans. The first 200 fans arriving Aug. 2 will
receive goody bags filled with at least $10 worth of racing items and coupons.
