Spoonmore Scoops Up Win At MIS In Mid-Ams

OREGON, WI --Jeremy Spoonmore scooped up the victory in the 40-lap Mid-American Stock Car Series feature before a good crowd Friday night at the Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI.

Miller drove the Farley Automotive Monte Carlo to a six-car length win over series point leader and two - time champion Bill Prietzel in the Performance Unlimited Monte Carlo.

Apparent third place finish Brad Keith was disqualified in a post-race inspection due to an engine setback violation.

That moved Jeremy Miller up one notch to third followed by Collin Bamke, Jason Taghikhani and Scott Null.

"I've never had a car that was this perfect," Spoonmore said.  "I love this place.  I always seem to do good here," he said of the high banked half-mile track.

Bamke was the early leader before Spoonmore dipped inside in turn one on lap 12.   Spoonmore had to survive three restarts following caution flag periods for minor incidents.

Miller was one of three drivers to break the one-lap qualifying record in time trials. The new mark now stands at 19.184.

The next two races for the Mid-American cars are both at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, WI.   The teams will be competing at the Red, White & Blue State Championship Saturday night, Aug. 23 and then the top point drivers will be part of the Royal Rumble car vs. super truck race Tuesday, Aug. 2.   That event is held in conjunction with the ASL 150 and B & B Race Engines Tuesday Night Late Model Shootout.
