Trickle, Cywinski Join Field For ACDelco/MARS Super Summer Series Opener
ELKO, MN -- Former NASCAR driver Dick Trickle and three-time ASA National
Champion Kevin Cywinski will join the field for the opening race of the
ACDelco/MARS Super Summer Series for late model stock cars at Elko Speedway
Saturday night, June 25.
Racing begins at 7 p.m. with qualifying at 6:15 p.m. on the 3/8-mile paved
oval.
Elko Speedway NASCAR late model drivers will face competition for Midwest
AllStar Racing Series (MARS) late model front runners Jeff Van Oudenhoven of
Kimberly, WI and Steve Carlson of West Salem, WI and many others. Van
Oudenhoven is a two-time MARS Series champion and is coming off a 100-lap
series win at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI where over 40 cars
attempted to make the field. Carlson is a many time NASCAR Touring and
ARTGO champion and won the MARS Series opener at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, MO.
Also entered is Lakeland Speedway RaceFest winner Charlie Menard of Eau
Claire, WI, who is competing in a number of 2005 MARS events.
Twin 50-lap MARS late model events top the program.
