Marshfield Super Speedway Results

Marshfield, WI, May 3, 2003 - Another night of nice racing weather was here for American Asphalt Night at the races. Pete Kempf in the Super Lates was quick timer. 2002 Super Stock Track Champ Tim Hintz was quick in the Supers. 2002 4-Cylinder Track Champion Keith Wirtz was fast timer in the 4-Cylinders. Mike Dodson set the pace for the Cruisers with his fast time.

Wayne Breitenfeldt jumped into the lead of the CARQUEST Super Late Model feature. Only five laps were completed when the first yellow flew. Breitenfeldt retained the lead through that caution and the next one, but last week's feature winner Doug Drost was able to work his way to the front and take the lead from Breitenfeldt at the halfway point. Breitenfeldt held second as Judd Brandl came through the pack and took third away from Eugene Gregorich Jr. Second year driver Eric Wisz was holding in fifth until veteran Pete Kempf passed him for the spot. Drost took home his second checkered in two weeks, Breitenfeldt second, Brandl third, Gregorich fourth and Kempf fifth.

Lap one of the Super Stock feature was led by Brian Stroik. The next eight laps went down in the books to Scott Hamel. Steve Borski, Keith Bohmsach and Tim Plowman quickly worked their way into the top five. Lap 15 started a string of cautions when Brendan Klueckman blew a tire. Over the next couple of laps three more yellows flew. Lap 17 Borski could no longer hold back Tim Plowman as he took the lead. Plowman held on for the win, Borski kept second, Bohmsach third, Hamel fourth and fast timer Tim Hintz fifth.

Dale Louze led the first lap of the 4-Cylinder feature. Stephen Stewart led the next three, then Keith Wirtz led a lap before the lead went back to Stewart for three more laps. As Stewart and Wirtz battled for the top spot, Paul Berg came from the back to the front, Robert Dalsky was holding fourth until a caution sent him to the rear on lap seven. Steve Hauser drove just behind the top five until he took over fourth on lap eight. After a couple of cautions, Wirtz held the lead, Stewart in a strong second, Berg finished third, Steve Hauser fourth and Dalsky came back for fifth.

The Cruiser feature was led by Mike Dodson. Nathan Briski held second for one lap until Travis Zvolena passed him for the position. Justin Moore ran fourth and Mark Koplien fifth. Dodson won, followed by Zvolena, Moore, Briski and Koplien.
