Big Cash, Contingencies On The Line For Luxemburg Badger State Showdown

(Luxemburg, WI) - More than $36,000 in cash and contingencies for are up for grabs in for the Badger State showdown presented by McCoy's Harley Davidson of Green Bay June 8 and 9 at Luxemburg Speedway.

IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars and IMCA hobby stocks will square off in the two day special which will be the largest paying IMCA event in Wisconsin history. The program, also presented by 1st Choice Auto of Green Bay, will pay $3,000 to the winner of the IMCA modified feature. IMCA stock cars will battle for a top prize of $2,000-to-win. IMCA hobby stocks will race for an $800 top prize. The modified feature Friday night will go 35 laps, with the stocks cars and hobby stocks going 30 and 20 laps, respectively.

"In addition to our $32,000 driver's payout, we've also rounded up more than $4,000 worth of product contingency awards for our drivers," said track manager Rick Goral. "We're expecting drivers from a four state area to take part in this two day event. We're the only IMCA sanctioned track running in the state that night and we're looking forward to more record car counts for this event." This is a fully sanctioned IMCA event with state and national points awarded for Friday nights show.

As a bonus for the fans, qualifying features will be run Thursday night, with the top six finishers taking part in a redraw for the first three rows of the main events on Friday night. "The balance of the field will be determined by heat and last chance qualifiers on Friday night," said Goral. "We felt it was important for the fans to see some feature racing on Thursday night as well."

Some lucky race fan could also win up to $1,000, as the track announcing team of Tom Wagner, Matt Panure and Joe Verdegan will play host to Luxemburg Speedway's version of "Deal or no Deal" on Friday night during intermission. There will also be giveaways for children and students as well.

The pit area opens at 4 p.m. both days.
