Monsoon-Like Showers Cancel Luxemburg Speedway Races Again

(Luxemburg, WI) May 18 - Heavy rains all week long have forced track officials with Luxemburg Speedway to cancel the Friday night races slated for May 19 for the second week in a row.

"We received more than five inches of rain and it left the track completely unworkable," said track manager Rick Goral. It was the track's second rainout in a row. "We'll just try again next week."

As a result of the rainout, Cyberworks "High School Senior Night at the races" will be postponed until June 2. The street stock series opening night race will not be made up, but they will make their initial appearance at the June 2 event.

Next Friday May 26 the Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car (EWSC) winged supermodifieds will make the first of two appearances for 2006. They will join the IMCA modifieds, stocks and hobbys along with both the sport fours and Lady 4's. Regular admission prices will be in effect for next Fridays races.

Luxemburg Speedway is located 15 minutes east of Green Bay off highway 54 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds. The track's phone is 920 845 2300. For more information call 920 863 8446. The track's website is luxemburgspeedway.com
