Monsoon-Like Showers Cancel Luxemburg Speedway Races
(Luxemburg, WI) May 11 - Three inches of rain fell at the Kewaunee County
Fairgrounds Thursday, prompting Luxemburg Speedway track officials to call off
the Baylake Bank church night at the races scheduled for Friday, May 12.
"The extremely wet conditions made the track completely unworkable,"
said track manager Rick Goral. "There'd be no hope whatsoever of racing
with the amount of rain we had. The track and the pits are soaked."
The church night passes will be honored on Friday night, June 2.
Next Friday night, May 19 the street stock division will be competing. In
addition to the weekly IMCA modifieds, stock cars and hobby stocks the sport
fours and Lady 4's will be competing. Six divisions will race. Regular
admission prices will be in effect for the race fans.
Luxemburg Speedway is located 15 minutes east of Green Bay off highway 54 at
