Luxemburg Speedway Gears Up For Oldies 103.1 Legends
(Luxemburg, WI) - Track officials at Luxemburg Speedway are preparing for the
fourth annual Luxemburg Legends night presented by WOGB 103.1 FM on Friday
night, August 5 at 7 p.m.
Former drivers spanning four decades of racing at the third-mile, clay oval
will be honored during a trackside ceremony at intermission. Many of these
legends will be competing in races at the conclusion of the regular racing
program.
Driver's who have taken part in past Legends nights include Red BeDell (Green
Bay), Bobby Marquis (De Pere), Lynn Wolfgram (Sturgeon Bay), Augie Derenne
(Luxemburg), Reggie Cochart (Brussels), Doug Larson (Green Bay), Wally Wise
(Green Bay) and Roger Paul (New London). Nearly 30 retired racers are expected
to take part in the program.
In addition 15-20 restored coupes, modifieds and sportsman cars will be on
display as part of the Vintage Modified Stock Car club based in Milwaukee.
These machines will be on display underneath the grandstand and will take part
in a pair of hot lap sessions during the evening. Fans are encouraged to bring
their racing memoriabilia which will also be on display under the grandstand.
A full program of IMCA modifieds, stock cars and hobby stocks will be
competing, along with sport fours and Lady 4's. WOGB will conduct a live
remote from the track from 4 to 6 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. For more
