Trailer Races Rained Out At LGR

Lake Geneva, WI. August 26th. - With a jammed pack crowd in the grandstand, Promoter Kevin Dawson was forced to cancel the remainder of the race program, Saturday night at Lake Geneva Raceway, after a lingering shower would not go away. The show was sponsored by R A Adams Enterprises out of McHenry, Illinois. Rain checks are good this coming Saturday night.

The first heat of the rascal outlaw series ran, with Rob Pollack from Lake Geneva the winner. The dash events ran for the super lates and McHenry Limousine super stocks with no results. Fast time went to Mike Meyerhofer of Burlington in the super late models, Jack Rubach from Burlington, in the super stocks and Jeff LeSage from Elgin, IL. in the rascal outlaws. But because of the rain out before a completed show, the result are not used for the championship points standings. Eddie May of Crystal Lake, IL. is in a tight points battle in the super late models and Adam Regnier of Twin Lakes in the super stocks.

The show will be rescheduled for this coming Saturday night September 2nd. The popular trailer race is on tap for that night along with the the super late models, super stocks and the return of the sportsman. The rascal outlaw series will be on the Friday night, September 1st. show. The program will be sponsored by Bear Realty. Time trials will be at 5:45 pm. racing at 7.

With the Labor Day weekend here, many race tracks wind down, but not at Lake Geneva Raceway which is in their final season. Friday night will be the regular weekly show at 7:30 pm., then on Monday Sept. 4th. the Midwest enduro series comes back for their last holiday show here at 12:30 pm. There will be rides in the race cars, 4 cylinder enduro on the quarter mile track, coin grab for the children, the famous Sausage race sponsored by Klements and the Mark “Tiny” Amborn memorial 301 lap race. This program gives families are great day of fun, rain or shine, just before school begins on Tuesday.
