Second Rain Out In A Row At LGR

Lake Geneva, WI. August 25th. It was another rainy day in Southeastern Wisconsin and at 3:32 pm. Kevin Dawson owner and promoter of Lake Geneva Raceway pulled the plugged for the second week in a row on the weekly Friday night oval track race program.

Tomorrow night the Saturday night race show will be spiced up with the final Saturday trailer race ever. R A Adams Enterprises, the Midwest largest trailer dealer will sponsor the evening. There will also be a race program as the super late models, super stocks and rascal outlaw series will race before the mayhem in the most popular event in the 40 year history of the oval. Time trials begin at 5:45 pm. racing at 7 sharp.

Next Friday night the LGR late models will hold their season championship. Points leader Sonny Schoffen of Crystal Lake, Illinois and second place, Union Grove’s Keith Tolf are in a heated battle for that title. Time trials begin at 6pm. racing at 7:30.

A few new shows have been added to the final season, as the Fall Classic sponsored by Victor Ford of Wauconda, IL. A Thursday start of September 28th., in place of traditional Friday, will begin the now four day show. On Thursday night spectator fans will be permitted to take a lap around the around in their vehicle and then receive a certificate with their name and the time they turned. There will be a host of other activities, including big wheels races and rides in the race cars for the children. On Saturday night October 20th. the “run what ya brung” show will be the final oval track event ever.
