Friday Night At LGR Rained Out
Lake Geneva, WI. July 21st. - The second Friday night of weekly stock car
racing for the final season was called early, due to rain. By 6pm. the sun was
out and there was no more rain in the area.
Tonight Michael Bilderback of South Beloit. Illinois was to race the Bill
Hobson late model, that campaigns at Rockford speedway. Hobson raced here 2004
in the Friday night LGR late models. This race car will be here on Thursday
night August 3rd. for the Big 8 series show. Bilderback who races a INEX
legend car here, is currently second in the 2006 points battle. Bilderback
started racing here at the age of 10 winning two INEX bandolero in a row. In
2004, Michael started in the legends while still in the bandoleros. In 2005,
he finished fourth, as the top four finished just 20 points total from 1st. to
fourth. The winged outlaw sprint cars will also be on that card, along with
our own weapons race cars. Advance tickets will be sold tomorrow night only.
Two days after that special Thursday show, the legends and bandoleros will
host regional qualifier sponsored by Speedway Auto Mall of Machesney Park, IL.
Points leader 17 year old Ernie Schaal, who has been racing with one arm due
to breaking his wrist at Grundy, earlier this month leads the field of legend
race cars. Being on a Saturday night August 5th. will draw drivers from around
the country. 9 states were represented last year. The bandoleros have had an
even higher weekly count, with a season high thirteen. Points leader and
defending champion 17 year old Kyle Palma is looking forward to the outsiders.
13 year old Slone Henderson of Franklin, Ohio has been here twice and fared
quite well against the drivers here. Outside drivers should call Speedway for
more information, or the raceway.
