Menard Wins Two Feature Races At Oktoberfest
By: Megan Mullikin

(West Salem, WI - October 7, 2005) - The hottest diver for the past 2 years at the Oktoberfest race weekend is with out a doubt Charlie Menard. Menard, Who two feature races Friday night is also five for five, he has won the last five feature races held for Oktoberfest.

The ASA 100 lap feature was also an exhilarating one with a early race lead from Stephen Leicht, but Charlie Menard never left his hind sight. " I wasn't going to spin him (Leicht) but i wasn't going to give up either" said Menard who trailed for 65 laps. "I was able to drive underneath him and he drove over my nose, I'm just glad he didn't spin" It was Menards his first win in the ASA series, he started the night on the poll. In third place Landon Cassill took his third top five of the year, he's in his second year of racing at the age of 16. There were also a number of crashes Friday night all in which involved multiple drivers, most drivers were able to return to racing.

The second night of the Oktoberfest races was an exciting one. The Area Sportsman Feature winner Friday night was Corey Jankowski who also set a new Sportsman track record of 21.070 earlier in the evening. Jankowski was followed closely by Jimmy Gilster and Dan Linnehan.
