Excitement, Night Of Thrill Highlight Eve Of Destruction

October 7-10 35th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend
(West Salem, WI - September 11, 2004) - The annual Eve of Destruction
sponsored by Coca-Cola certainly provided lots of fun for the roughly 7,000
attendees Saturday night at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. Great racing
and lots of novelty events highlighted the evenings schedule. In action
were the United Auto Supply Thunderstox as well as the Features Sports Bar and
Grill Hornet division.
The Hornets ran a full schedule, including four heat races and three
features. Winning heat races were Kim Strom, Mike Peters, Heath
Weissenberger and Jerrod Loging. Feature race winners were Jeff Rud,
Chris Vinson and Mike Carlson.
The Thunderstox drivers competed in a series of fun novelty events.
Justin Berg and Andy Barney were the winners in the Second Over the Line
races. Adam Moore and Kevin Burr took the checkers in the Double Spin to
Win races. Tony Leis took the win in the famous School Bus Race,
outlasting Jerrod Loging to the line. After fan voting and tons of
destruction, Robert Stanfield was declared the winner of the infamous Trailer
Race of Destruction. Over twenty cars hauling boats, campers, lawn mowers and
much more started, but not too many finished.
Also providing lots of entertainment for the fans were the Devastator and Full
Boar Monster Trucks, Spectacular Drags cars and the Green Mamba Jet Car.
One weekend of racing action remains in the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway
season. The 35th annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend, featuring 15
divisions, will take place October 7-10. Make plans now to come out and
enjoy the great weekend of racing action.
