Indian Summer Classic Continues To Build Momentum With More Sponsors

Antigo, WI (Oct 2, 2005):  As the Indian Summer Classic draws nearer at the Langlade Speedway in Antigo (WI), involvement continues to grow from organizations wanting to insure a complete success.  Most recently, Antigo Stock Car, Inc. is pleased to announce the involvement of the Menominee Casino Bingo & Hotel (Keshena, WI) and welcome them to the list of supporters of the event.  “The involvement of the Menominee Casino and Bingo group adds much more depth to the event as a whole,” stated Paul Pittman, promotion consultant for ASC, Inc and the Indian Summer Classic.  “The support that I see each day like this never really ceases to amaze me.  I am so glad that they are on-board for this!”

Menominee Casino and Bingo, joins the Forrest County Potawatomi, North Star Bingo and Casino, Seubert Cattle Ranches and Lund Racing Supplies in creating the 2-day event scheduled for Friday Oct, 7th and Sat, Oct 8th.  “We have 5 (five) divisions all set to qualify on Friday night which should provide more drama then most daytime soap operas and then on Saturday, the B and A Mains will run off with a $5,000 to win stake up for grabs for the Late Models.” commented Pittman.  “Then to top all that off, we’ve got FATTFRO Motorsports on board awarding hard charger bonuses in each division ($500 for Late Models, $250 for Modifieds and $100 ea for IMCA Stocks, WISSOTA Street Stocks and ASCI Trucks) plus, they are bringing in the FATTFRO Challenge which will put the fans right in the middle of the action by making them a part of the show.   Then, to top everything off and close things out right, Alvin Weso and Fire-Up Fireworks are going to put on a fireworks show like the community has never seen before.  I haven’t been this excited about a show since the “Summer Sizzler” Sprint event back in August!”

Full points will be awarded for the Late Models and Street Stocks while the IMCA Modifieds and Stocks will run under their rules, minus the claim rule.  Last year’s winner of the Indian Summer Classic, Tim Buhler, took a moment to reflect on his views of the increased purse surrounding.  “This is a big deal!  Last year we drew bad and started 10th but were able to take advantage of the extra length of the race and fought our way up to win it.  The extra money this year will definitely bring the best out to the track so we’ll have to be up the wheel.  With that much money, there’s gonna be a lot a good cars.”

Winner of the Late Model portion of the Frank Filskov Fall Classic in Plymouth on Saturday night echoed Buhler’s comments and was quick to point out that the field of Late Models expected in Antigo will lead to a very exciting and hotly contested weekend of racing.  “It’s the last race of the season up there and it’s always important to end the season on a high note as a driver.  All the guys that will be there are there to win it.  It’s not like a weekly deal where there’s only a small difference between positions.  Everyone will be going for a shot at the $5,000.”  Parker’s $2,000 win on Saturday night plus, his experience and prowess behind the wheel make him just one of the many favorites on hand for the weekend affair.

Entry fees for all divisions as follows and include car and driver: WISSOTA Late Models-$90; IMCA Modifieds-$75; IMCA Stock Cars-$65; WISSOTA Street Stocks-$65; ASCI Race Trucks-$55. Pit Passes: $25 per day or a 2-day pit passes for $45. Registration begins on Friday, Oct 7 at 4pm to 6pm. Format will be a draw/redraw format.

General admission for the 2-day event for adults will be $12 of Friday and $15 on Saturday, with a 2-day pass available for $25. Children ages 6 to 12 can get in on Friday for $8 and $10 on Saturday with a 2-day pass available for just $16. Children 5 and under are always free at the Langlade Speedway.
